Preparation
1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Cook the Pasta:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the Pastabilities pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
3. Brown the Ground Beef:
In a large oven-safe skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add onions, garlic, bell pepper. Then add the Laura's Lean ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through.
4. Prepare the Cheese Mixture:
In a mixing bowl, combine the parsley, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, half of the shredded cheese, and half of the grated Parmesan cheese. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
5. Add the Marinara Sauce and Sugar:
Pour the marinara sauce over the cooked ground beef in the skillet. Add the salt & pepper, basil, sugar and stir to combine. Let the sauce simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
6. Combine Pasta and Sauce:
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce and ground beef. Gently toss to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.
7. Layer with Cheese:
Spoon the cheese mixture evenly over the pasta and spread it out with a spatula. Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese and grated Parmesan cheese over the top. Then add more pasta and ground beef. Then layer with shredded cheese and Parmesan Cheese
8. Bake:
Place the skillet in the oven in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges are golden brown.
9. Serve:
Remove the baked spaghetti from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley if desired. Serve directly from the skillet or transfer to plates.
Enjoy!
