Simple Sloppy Joes

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients
2 pounds Laura's 92% Lean Ground Beef or 96% Lean Ground Round
1 large onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
1 red bell pepper, seeded and chopped
1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (4.5-ounce) can chopped green chiles, drained
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1/4 cup brown sugar
6 hamburger buns, toasted

Directions
1. Cook ground beef and onion in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat about 5 minutes or until meat is browned and onion is tender; drain.
2. Reduce heat to medium and add garlic, green pepper and red pepper and cook 3 minutes or until tender.
3. Add tomato sauce and next 3 ingredients and simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally about 15 minutes. Serve on toasted hamburger buns.

Makes 6-8 servings.

Cooking Tip: If you prefer less sweetness in your sloppy joe, cut the brown sugar in half. Add more to taste if needed.
