Beef and Sausage Cassoulet

Cook Time: 40 minutes

Ingredients
1 pound Laura's 92% Lean Ground Beef or 96% Lean Ground Round
8 ounces reduced-fat smoked turkey sausage, halved lengthwise and sliced
1 medium-size sweet onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 (14 1/2-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste
1 (15 1/2-ounce) can cannellini beans, rinsed and drained
1 (14-ounce) can low-salt beef broth
1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning

Directions
1. Sauté beef and sausage in a Dutch oven coated with cooking spray 10 minutes or until beef crumbles and is no longer pink; drain.
2. Add onion and garlic; sauté 5 minutes or until tender.
3. Stir in tomatoes and remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, and simmer, uncovered, 20 to 25 minutes.

Makes 8 servings.

Cooking Tip: A cannellini bean is a traditional white Italian bean, sometimes known as white kidney bean. Rinsing your beans will help reduce the sodium.
