Let’s talk healthier leaner nutrition for a minute. If we asked you to close your eyes and tell us what types of foods come to mind when we say “ healthier and leaner”, what would those foods be? If you are like most people, you’re probably thinking tasteless, bland no-fat, diet frozen food … and truthfully who wouldn’t have a long face when they think the only option to a healthier lifestyle comes in the form of complete restriction of all things tasty. We’re here today to ask you to “just say no to diet foods!”. There is a better way – it’s called balance! And it is a lot easier to achieve than you think. We know it’s hard to break our way of thinking to get away from the no-fat way of eating. But think about all the times you’ve perhaps tried to lose a few pounds and you loaded up on diet foods – did it work? Did it work long term? Were you happy? Satisfied? The no-fat diet foods craze has only resulted in a nation of adults struggling with their weight and sub-optimal health. Instead, focus on making leaner, natural and wholesome food choices. The more you eat of these types of food (and less of the processed stuff), the better you will feel and the easier the time you will have meeting your health and happiness goals. Also, don’t be afraid of the good fats like coconut oil, olive oil, avocados etc. Oh – and did we mention seasonings? There are so many seasonings out there just waiting for you to indulge your taste buds! And who says you can’t have meat? Of course you can! It doesn’t have to be lean chicken breast all the time. Throw in some pork every now and then and lean beef. Laura’s Lean Beef offers a wide variety of leaner beef options you can enjoy with confidence. Cook up some burgers, steak or ribs – remember you’re better off with leaner options. Quality fats are good for you but that doesn’t mean binging either. Think balance and you will be well on your way to a healthier, happier you in no time!
