Judy Eggebeen

Judy Eggebeen is a Certified Clinical Exercise Specialist, Certified Health/Fitness Specialist and Certified Personal Trainer who is currently working as an Exercise Physiologist in Cardiac Rehabilitation. Judy has a passion for overall health and wellness, and she loves fitness for the effect it has on our "insides" as well as our "outsides." She understands firsthand how difficult it can be to fit exercise in on top of working and taking care of things at home, so she is excited to be able to share tips and tricks on how to make exercise enjoyable and effective while fitting it into a busy life!

Q: What’s your favorite guilty pleasure?
A: Chocolate chip cookies.

Q: What do you always keep in your refrigerator?
A: Hummus, cheese, milk, OJ, and flavored seltzer water

Q: What do you often eat for breakfast?
A: I usually eat cereal, although sometimes I mix things up with oatmeal or a whole wheat english muffin with peanut butter.

Q: What’s a food you should like but you don’t?
A: Salmon…. Well really all seafood…

Q: What kitchen tool or gadget to most closely relate to and why?
A: Probably a “spoonula” because it combines 2 tools in one… I’m all about being efficient!

Q: What do you do for exercise?
A: I absolutely LOVE a good power walk outside … that is my main form of exercise. I also do the elliptical and workout DVDs to mix things up a bit.

Q: What do you love the most about your job?
A: I love being able to educate people about the effect of exercise on all aspects of health. I currently work in Cardiac Rehab, so I have the opportunity to help people realize the positive effect of exercise on almost every risk factor for heart disease.

Q: Why do you choose to blog for LLB?
A: LLB has a passion for all things healthy and natural, and so do I! I love being able to share information about the benefits of exercise on overall health and wellness, as well as help people fit exercise into their busy lives!

Q: Favorite type of music?
A: Contemporary Christian Music

Q: Pet peeve?
A: The sneakers that claim they help you lose weight and get toned legs… The only way to get that is through real exercise! (I could write a whole paragraph venting about these but I’ll just keep it at that!)

Q: How do you recharge your batteries?
A: A good walk outside does wonders for the mind… I also enjoy just sitting on the couch with a cup of coffee and my laptop browsing the internet.

Q: Where did you learn life’s greatest lessons?
A: This one’s kind of tough! Probably through church and through life experiences of family and friends. I also learned a lot about life and about myself while I was in grad school … that was a whole different ball game!
